Lia's approach is solution-oriented and focused on building your skills and playing it up to your strengths while empowering you. As such the process is complete with warmth, emotional safety and your practice of new skills in sessions and outside. As a clinician, I strive to create a safe and supportive space (LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC friendly) for my clients to process their emotions and to explore cognitive-behavioral patterns that are either hindering or can be enagaged to promote desirable changes. Through compassionate listening and empathetic understanding, I help my clients to navigate life's complexities, develop coping strategies, and build meaningful relationships with themselves and others.
I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address skill deficits and EMDR & Sensori-Motor Therapy to address affect regulation and trauma-related patterns. Additionally, I rely on Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, and Relational Psychodynamics.
